What it does

This bot handles support tickets inside a Discord server. Members open a ticket when they need help, and the bot creates a private space for that conversation so it stays separate from the rest of the server. Staff can claim a ticket to show they are handling it, and close it when the issue is resolved. Tickets can be sorted into categories, and access is limited to the staff roles set up for each category.

The bot also watches over open tickets. An alert system notifies staff when a ticket needs attention, and automatic closing handles tickets that go quiet so the channel list does not fill up with stale conversations. When a ticket closes, the bot can produce a transcript so the exchange is kept for later reference.

Ticket messages and notices use Discord's modern display components, including embeds, so information such as the ticket category, the staff member who claimed it and the current status is laid out clearly rather than as plain text. Members mostly see the ticket channel itself; the claiming, categorising, alerts and closing tools are aimed at staff. Setup is done once by whoever runs the server, assigning staff roles to categories and choosing where alerts go.

Questions about Discord Ticket

How does claiming a ticket work?

A staff member claims an open ticket to mark it as theirs, which shows the rest of the team that it is being handled. The exact command is not listed here, but claiming is normally limited to staff roles configured for that ticket category.

What permissions does the bot need?

It needs to create and manage private ticket channels, so it requires permission to manage channels and to view and send messages in them. It also needs to read the staff roles you assign to categories. Grant these at the category level where tickets are created.

What happens when a ticket auto-closes?

Tickets that go inactive are closed automatically so the server does not collect unused channels. A transcript can be saved at closing time. The inactivity period is set during setup, and staff can usually close a ticket manually before that point.
